The Kindergarten Curriculum:
The LLCA "Litte Raptors" Kindergarten Program is built upon the framework of the rigorous Core Knowledge curriculum. Every component of our curriculum is delivered by highly qualified, and certified educators of the highest professional caliber.
Children receive instruction in English Language Arts, (reading, writing, speaking, and listening), Science, History, and Geography. Kindergarten also includes intensive phonics instruction, spiral instruction in mathematics, and interdisciplinary units of study. Kindergarten through 5th-grade students follow the Eureka Math curriculum.
All kindergarten students also receive instruction in Visual Arts, Music, Physical Education, Guidance, Library, and STEM. Every component of our curriculum affords personalization and acceleration where appropriate.
A Typical Day at Kindergarten:
7:30 am - 7:55 am - Welcome, Drop off, and Walking Club
8 am - 8:15 am - Morning announcements & Morning greeting with teachers
8:15 am - 9:30 am - Math
9:30 am - 9:45 am - Brain Break & Snack time. Stretching & Physical Education
9:45 am - 11 am - English Language Arts
11 am - 11:30 am - Lunch
11:30 am - 12:15 pm - Specials or Electives such as Art, Music, Guidance, Library, STEM, and P.E.
12:15 - 1 pm - History or Geography
1 pm - 1:30 pm - Outdoor Education/Recess
1:30 pm - 2:15 pm - Science
2:15 pm - 2:45 pm - Listening & Learn - Stories, poems, reading aloud, etc...
2:40 pm - 3 pm - Student's Choice
3 pm 3:10 pm - Pack up and prepare to leave for the day
