To our Seniors & Parents: Congratulations - You did it. You will soon be an LLCA Graduate!

We are so excited to be able to confirm that the graduation ceremony will be held in person and on campus, Wednesday, June 9th at 6 pm!

To help you and your guests plan and be prepared for the event, we wanted to make you aware of the following Protocols for the Lake Lure Classical Academy Graduation Ceremony.

A mandatory rehearsal will be held Tuesday, June 8th at 11 am. Lunch will be provided. If for any reason your senior cannot attend the dress rehearsal, please inform the front office as soon as possible to request to be excused or make other arrangements.

Seniors will receive a total of TEN tickets. Each guest of a senior attending the graduation will need this ticket in order to be seated in the main part of the auditorium. Other than special guests, and members of the school board, anyone entering without a ticket will have to sit in the bleachers. Tickets will be mailed to all seniors at the address on file by May 28th. Alternatively, students or parents may come by the school office on May 28th to pick up their packet of tickets. If you choose to pick up your tickets on that day, please do so before 2:30 pm. Any tickets not picked up on the 28th will be mailed. LLCA is not responsible for lost tickets. Seniors are solely responsible for distributing their ticket allotment.

Face masks are strongly recommended for anyone attending or participating in the graduation ceremony. Many adults and most children are still unvaccinated and can easily spread COVID-19, and face coverings are still required in school and child care settings during regular school activities. Nothing in North Carolina Executive Order 215, dated May 14, 2021, changes the StrongSchoolsNC Toolkit requirement for face coverings in schools. Please know that we will ask guests to wear a face covering during the graduation ceremony. However, we can no longer mandate them during graduation, only during normal school activities.

Seniors will be able to decorate their caps. However, they will need to give Assistant Principal Mr. Hustead a drawing or sketch of what the cap will look like to ensure that it is appropriate. Seniors can give the drawing to Mr. Hustead during the Senior Picnic on June 4th or prior to June 4th.

Parents or seniors may pick up graduation gowns during normal school hours, but it is imperative that the gowns remain pressed, clean, and presentable for the day of graduation. The gowns have been professionally dry-cleaned and are hanging in the front office. The material wrinkles quite easily.

Honors Cords for NHS and outstanding GPA averages will be distributed during the June 8th Rehearsal. The school is covering the cost of these cords and they are yours to keep as a memory of your achievements.

ATTIRE: (Proper attire for the Graduation Ceremony):

Ladies: dark or nude dress shoes and appropriate attire that cannot be seen above or below the gown (dress or skirt).

Gentlemen: dark dress slacks, dark dress shoes, a light-colored dress shirt, and a dark tie.

***No jeans, shorts, mini-skirts, tennis/canvas shoes, combat shoes, flip flops, crocs, sunglasses, or gum will be permitted.***

All grades for seniors will be finalized no later than June 1, 2021, to ensure that awards of honor cords are populated correctly. The Valedictorian and Salutatorian will be named once grades are finalized.

The school has had yard signs made for all graduating seniors. Parents or seniors may come by the school office during normal school hours to pick up the sign and place it in your yard. Feel free to pose with your sign and send the picture to to post on the Parent-Student Facebook page. We hope this small token of recognition for your student shows them we acknowledge their hard work and dedication to their education at LLCA.

The senior picnic will be on June 4th. Seniors will receive more information from the senior advisors by the end of the next week. We hope the seniors will enjoy this annual event with their classmates. Also, if your senior has not received their senior t-shirt, it will be given to him/her at the picnic.

If you have any questions concerning this information, please contact the school office at (828) 625-9292.

We look forward to seeing you on June 9th!
