College and Career Promise
In partnership with high school students, their families, and Isothermal Community College, Lake Lure Classical Academy is proud to actively support our students with a clear path of opportunities to enter the world of work and higher education with a strong head start.
Career & College Promise (CCP) offers our qualifying high school students with structured opportunities to dually enroll in community college courses that provide pathways that lead to a certificate, diploma, or degree as well as provide entry-level job skills. Academic credits earned through Career and College Promise enable students who continue into postsecondary education after graduating from high school to complete a postsecondary credential in less time than would normally be required.
Community colleges collaborate with local schools like ours to offer courses through several Career and College Promise program pathways, including:

College Transfer — Designed for students planning to continue their educational career beyond high school to eventually achieve an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree at a community college or university.

Career & Technical Education — Allows students to begin a certification or diploma program in a particular technical field or career area.
- Cooperative Innovative High Schools — North Carolina's early colleges and other innovative schools are small public high schools, usually located on the campus of a university or community college, where students simultaneously work toward completion of both the high school diploma and an associate's degree, transferrable credit or certificate.
