Available to all students, LLCA’s school counseling services are designed to facilitate student achievement, improve student behavior and attendance, and help students develop socially and emotionally.
Student CounselingSchool Counselors work with students in three broad domains:
These domains promote mindsets and behaviors that enhance the learning process and create a culture of college and career readiness for all students. The definitions of each domain are as follows:
Academic Development – School counseling programs implement strategies and activities to support and maximize each student’s ability to learn.
College and Career Development – School counseling programs help students 1) plan for and make a successful transition from school to post-secondary education and/or the world of work and 2) understand the connection between school and the world of work.
Social/Emotional Development – School counseling programs help students manage emotions and learn and apply interpersonal skills.
Hours of availability are the same as those of classroom teachers, 9 am - 11 am and 1 pm to 3 pm Monday through Friday.
