On Tuesday evening, students from Lake Lure Classical Academy proudly presented to Mayor Carol Pritchett and members of the Lake Lure Town Council, sharing a comprehensive overview of the school’s achievements in academics, athletics, and extracurricular engagement.
The student-led presentation highlighted the academy’s recent recognition for Exceeding Growth in the previous academic year, a significant accomplishment that reflects the school’s ongoing dedication to academic excellence. Students spoke passionately about their educational experiences, offering firsthand perspectives on the benefits of a classical, knowledge-based curriculum that fosters critical thinking, civic responsibility, and personal virtue—the core mission of Lake Lure Classical Academy.
In addition to academic success, the students emphasized the vibrancy of campus life, including competitive athletic programs and a wide range of extracurricular opportunities that support student growth beyond the classroom.
A key focus of the presentation was the school's commitment to outdoor education, which is deeply integrated into the student experience at Lake Lure Classical Academy. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the region, students are regularly engaged in hands-on learning opportunities that promote environmental stewardship, leadership, and team-building.
Mayor Pritchett and council members expressed appreciation for the students’ insights and applauded their confidence, professionalism, and civic engagement. The visit served as a powerful example of the positive relationship between the academy and the greater Lake Lure community.
