The Raptor’s Roost Food Truck: Parent Lunch Guide

Welcome to the Raptor’s Roost lunch program!   Meals are prepared in our school food trailer and served every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday by pre-order only.

 

Please review the updated procedures below for ordering through Meal Magic, as well as information on applying for financial assistance.

1. How to Order via Meal Magic
All standard lunch orders must be placed and paid for in advance through the online family portal. Cash payments and walk-up orders cannot be accepted at the food truck.

 

Step 1: Set Up Your Account
Visit the Instructions for Creating a Family Portal Account and Placing an Order link to establish your family account. The payment processing platform (Vanco) allows you to preload money onto your child’s account and monitor their balances.

 

Step 2: Place Your Order
Log into Lake Lure Charter Family Portal to select meals. An order must be submitted separately for each child.

 

Step 3: Review the Menu
Monthly menus are posted in the portal. Each meal features a main entrée and two rotating seasonal sides. The fixed price for any student or adult meal is $4.00.

⏰ STRICT ORDERING DEADLINE:
All orders must be submitted by midnight on the Thursday BEFORE the week of service.
Example: To receive meals for the week of Monday, August 10, your order must be finalized by Thursday, August 6 at 11:59 PM.

 

 

2. How to Apply for Financial Assistance
Lake Lure Classical Academy provides meal support for families as determined by the Financial Eligibility Form

 

📋 Alternate Financial Assistance Process
If your family qualifies for financial assistance, you do not need to create an online Meal Magic account.

 

To Apply:
1. Request and complete the physical Financial Eligibility Form from the school.
2. Return the completed paper form directly to the main school office.
3. Once approved, your child's meals will be coordinated directly through the front office.

 

Talk to Your Child: Please make sure your child knows exactly which days you have ordered a meal for them so they know to line up at the food truck.

 

Meal Delivery: At lunch period, students will either visit the food truck window or have their pre-ordered meals delivered directly to their designated dining area.

 

Program Support: All proceeds from the Raptor's Roost program directly fund truck maintenance, with the long-term goal of building a permanent on-campus cafeteria. ✉️

About The Raptor's Roost
The school food trailer was purchased from a local vendor and extensively renovated by our community. Upgrades include a new 8-burner cookstove, a direct water supply hookup, a 300-pound propane tank, and built-in safety stairs for easy student access to the serving window. As a point of reference, during the 2025-2026 school year, we served nearly 10,000 hot, nutritious lunches to students.  We would like to thanks out food truck staff and volunteers for their efforts to make this a succes!
