Full Time Employee Benefits
Health Insurance:
Our health insurance program is provided through the North Carolina State Health plan using Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. LLCA employee insurance rates are the same as all other public schools located in North Carolina. Coverage options include individual, children only, spouse only, and family.
The rates are available on the North Carolina State Health Plan Website or in the finance office of the school.
Other Insurance Benefits:
LLCA also offers a cafeteria plan for all other insurance needs. Dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, and many other supplemental insurance benefits are available to choose from. Dental and vision insurance are offered on a pretax basis. These insurance options are made available through Hill Insurance Agency of Rutherfordton, NC.
Retirement:
A 403b (pretax) retirement option is offered by the school. The 403b retirement plan is serviced by Lincoln Financial Group. Carson Wealth Management is our certified financial planner and retirement specialist.
Employees choose how to invest their retirement contribution, and may contribute up to the investment amount allowed by the IRS. LLCA matches up to six percent of the employee’s contribution.
Personal/Sick Days:
All ten-month full-time associates are allotted 80 hours of personal/sick time per year. All twelve-month full-time associates are allotted 96 hours per year.
Summer Vacation:
All ten-month full-time associates are given paid time off during the summer months. This period is usually from mid-June until mid-August.
Holiday and Seasonal Breaks:
LLCA offers paid days off for all North Carolina Department of Public Instruction recognized holidays.
