Athletics at LLCA

Welcome to the Athletics Program of
Lake Lure Classical Academy

As important as academics is to the life of your child's education, so too is a healthy interest in physical activities and even competitive sports if that is of interest to your children. Lake Lure Classical Academy’s 18,086-square-foot Raptor Center, our Athletic Team Coaches, and Physical Education Teachers are able to offer a dramatically superior physical education program, including

Summer Youth Sports Camps, basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, cross-country track, baseball, and golf.

This beautiful facility features a high school regulation-sized wood-floored gym area with folding bleachers on two sides, scoreboards, home team boys and girls locker rooms, visiting team boys and girls locker rooms, a concession area,t coaches offices, a weight room, and public restrooms.

In addition to the indoor facilities, LLCA’s soccer fields feature new goals and a thick Bermuda grass that provide just the right density and color to create a great sports field.

The athletic teams at LLCA compete in the Western Piedmont Athletic Conference (W.P.A.C.) along with nine other schools.

The teams also compete in the Carolina State Athletic Association (C.S.A.A.) which is composed of over 25 schools from North and South Carolina. Being a part of both of these athletic associations allows our students and teams to participate in multiple post-season tournaments.

Sporting Seasons

Please note that all sports at LLCA are offered based on student interest, level of participation, and current state public health guidelines and restrictions. Updates and announcements will be posted here.

Volleyball and Basketball have a JV (6th – 10th grade) level of participation and a Varsity (7th – 12th grade) level of participation. All other sports have grades 6th – 12th on Varsity.

Sixth graders cannot play in C.S.A.A. State games on a Varsity team. There are several forms that students and parents need to fill out BEFORE they can begin participation in any sport at LLCA. These forms must be filled out each year a student participates in sports.
